Getting into cycling is easy! As a club we regularly host events including races and social activities, and plenty of different types of club runs for riders of all abilities. Whether you’re new to the cycling scene or an experienced rider or racer, we have groups to suit. Read on below for details of our regular club runs.

Level 1 Club Runs

This is the easiest ride level aimed at anyone starting out: beginners, younger riders or anyone who wants a reasonably shorter ride. Rides are approximately 14-16 mph average speed, and 20-30 miles in distance.

Under 16’s must have a completed parental consent form.

These rides are the first and third Saturdays of each month, leaving Don Valley Cycles at 9:30am. Experienced riders lead the group and will provide all the information and advice new and younger riders may need.

The route is posted on the Doncaster Wheelers Facebook page and website a couple of days prior.

Level 2 Club Runs

This ride is for more experienced riders or anyone wanting a longer ride, and usually involves a cafe stop along the way. The average speed tends to be slightly higher at approximately 16-18 mph, and rides are usually 60-80 miles depending on the weather.

These rides are normally every Wednesday and Saturday from School Lane, Auckley, leaving at 9:30am.

The route is posted on the Doncaster Wheelers Facebook page and website a couple of days prior.

Level 3 Club Runs

This tends to be more of a fast training ride for the fittest riders. Distances vary from 30 mile “chaingangs” to 100+ mile challenge rides. Usually these rides will average over 20 mph.

These rides are posted on the Facebook page and website when they are organised.
